We believe in the full participation of the people in development
that benefits every body, in a development process where the people are the
cause of development rather than recipients and mere spectators.
1.
Participatory Processes
We believe that people must be active participants in any
development process or programme(s) intended to improve their lives or transform
the context and conditions within which they live and upon which their well
being depends.
2.
Sustainable and Integrated Approach
We believe that the development process must be dictated by
the recipients to conform with traditional practices and in order for it to
be sustainable, and must also take into account the spiritual, mental, physical
and emotional aspects of an individual, the family, the community and the
country.
3.
Equality and Social Justice
We believe in the equal participation of all adults (women
and men), youth and children of all backgrounds and abilities, and allows
equal spread of benefit and access to services. The three main language groups
with their different cultures must participate equally to work and live together;
and likewise, the different religious groups are to participate equally and
should not be over looked.
