1986

- Awareness.

1987

- Awareness.

- Funds also exhausted.

1988

- No work/no money.

1989

- Okari Board set up. (Chairman - George Tumai)
- PNG Trust set up. (vm/th)


- Conduct first Facilitators training.
- First funding from Cultural Survival.
- First District Forum at Itokama.
- Damien Ase took studies at UPNG, started getting involved in work of PWM and the Managalas project.


1991

- Second District Forum.
- PNG Trust visits.
- Clan elders/facilitatorsą training
- Management team set up: Brian Kasira - Manager, Douglas Tumai - Bookkeeper K. Toto - Co-ordinator
- BCN funded okari project.
- Joash Yambut involved.


1992

- Awareness to set up new Zones.
- Third District Forum.
- Visit of Cultural Survival, WWF, BCN, Liz, and World Bank.
- Biological survey.
- Ten okari bags sent to USA.
- Clan groups discussion.
- Dickson Darebo employed by PWM.
- D. Ase assisted PWM as Executive officer while at UPNG.
- Signed contract with BCN in Washington DC. (Brian Kasira).


1993

- Zone 2 awareness.
- Okari office building set up.
- Zone 5 awareness and appointed an awareness coordinator to observe in Zone 1 in the awareness program.
- BCN Funding from USA after my trip (Brian Kasira)
- First Buying of Okari nuts.
- Land Tenure work started under BCN funding. Worked on biological research with Joash Yambut of PWM and Nick Salafsky of BCN and local recorders.
- Help register Okari Eco-Enterprises as a tax-exempt company with IPA.


1994

- 3 meetings held - Serefuna / Kokoro / Tahama.
- Awareness. Seeking views.
- NACODA established.
- Community contribution of funds for office, Community donate iron sheet
- Full board (7 members) Luke Mambe - Manager, Roy Garawa - Bookkeeper, Malchus & Edrick - Coordinators, Ezekiel Garui ­ Enterprise coordinator
- 3 Board Meetings, 1 Zone Forum held. - Combine Forum held.


1995

- Zone (2) with five (5) staff members: Luke Mambe - Manager, Roy Garawa - Bookkeeper, Malchus & Edrick ­ Co-ordinators, Ezekiel - Enterprise Manager.
- Buying of coffee and selling to ARABICA`s - Goroka. - Office built.
- Community threatens to
withdraw shares.
- Help with work on registration of NACODA.
- Damien was nominated to Board of PWM.


1996

- July - Rainforest: Rune Paulsen kisim save long project.
- October - application, December - 1st Funding.
- CONA Development Association joined the Organisation - Zone 10.
- John Babaga was the Manager for CONA Dev. Ass.
- Dunston Sihugo registered as bookkeeper during this period till now.
- Awareness continued CONA Dev. Ass.
- Zone 2: 1st Funding on pilot project through SRDP - World Bank for 4-6 months.
- Drafting of the groups constitution in preparation of registration with IPA.
- 3 Board Meeting.
- Zone 5: 1st Funding received from PWM for the Clan Group Discussion in 1996.
- ELA translator work started for clan group discussion materials and also first support to translate material. That support was only to translate clan group discussion materials only but not to run literacy programmes.
- EDA: Establishment of EDA. 7th April 1996.
- First Funding from NRF.
- April, Elizabeth Forsyth visited the project area and made recommendation for RFN Funding.


1997

- Attended ICRAF workshop at Popondetta. (Oct. 23 - 27). Represented NACODA (Rose).
- Rainforest 1st Funding, April.
- Zone 2 - 1st Funding World Bank - Pilot project SRDP.
- Four additional clans involved.
- First Okari buying - 5 charters to POM. (K19013.71).
- ELA- Our first capacity building workshop.
- EDA- involvement in small support project (coffee buying).
- Zone 6 - changing of first management.
- Combined Forum (Zone 6).
- BNEA - involved under Okari.
- Zone 5 - Zone five was under suspension for a year because of misuse of funds by manager.
- Re-established in 1999 with first advance of K1000.00 on the 28th April.
- Vincent Manukayasi joined PWM in August.
- Office moved to Rainbow.
- Registration of Nacoda as an Association with IPA. (DA).
- Zone 2 - two staff (Malchus & Ezekiel) left job due to community influences.


1998

- July ­ application to Rainforest. December - funding secured.
- January - Steven Ranu joined PWM.
- October - Practical work/while at POM Business Training Institute (Rose).
- Rainforest - No proper audit received.
- May ­ First trip to Itokama (Steven R. & Flint H.)
- Zone 2 - Business activities continues - Negotiate with KDA for coffee.
- January - Edwin Noaka joined PWM.
- Shem and Fiona came to project.
- Slovenia Doctors.


- John joined Nacoda as NVS volunteer. Setting up of books, Bookkeeping, Eco-Enterprise, Assist in meeting, forums and general program of the Association.
- CONA Development Association registered (Zone 10) - Nacoda - cheque account opened with ANZ.
- Obtained Association Certificate from IPA.
- Bookkeeper and Managers Training. - Okari buying.
- Airfreight coffee to KDA.
- ELA, Management staff formed.
- Bookkeeping Workshop.
- Translating of clan group discussion materials.
- Steering Committee meeting at Numba.
- Telephone set up in Zone one. - Support project set-up.
- George Tumai nominated to PWM Board.
- EDA - appointment AFC East (Zone 6) - Zone 6 - changing of first management and Board EDA.
- BNEA - Publication set-up.
- Awareness after awareness but no action, Dunston started this organization as Bookkeeper for Cona Development Association till now. - Land Tenure/boundary mapping started. (DA) - Appointment of 2 assistant field coordinators,
- Kingsford Kipamari - East and Malchus Kajia - West. (Funding from McArthur Funding) - Awareness for East/West.
- Douglas appointed Okari Manager - Field Coordinators appointed (Brian Kasira & Ps. Ivan Avowari) - Anastasia came from CIEL.
- World Bank inspection panel workshop (Kamiali - Lae). (ICRAF) - Kingsford & Malchus.


1999

- Awareness on Land Tenure and Boundary Mapping. (Itokama) - July - Application to Rainforest.
- December - 3 funding secured.
- January - November ­ Rose joined PWM & left in November.
- June - Partners meeting in Norway. (DA, AK, VM, BK, MW.) - Rainforest - no proper1998 audit received.
- August - Vincent Manukayasi left PWM.
- July 3rd - World Bank visit (Bill & Bruce).
- Eco- Vitality study done by Nancy Sullivan.
- Okari & Nacoda. Okari sales stolen. (break & enter, held up Edwin and Edrick at gun point). Amount stolen - K4834.00.
- April - Zone 2 meeting, the Board agree to assist Health worker in the plateau but no fund was allocated for the health in the plateau.
- BNEA - worked on its own under publication division. -DA elected as Chairman of the Board of PWM.
- Received funding from UN DESA for Micro Hydro project & HF Radio.
- May 28th - June 18th - came to Itokama with Slovenian Doctors to help sick people on the Plateau (Rose) last trip though promised to come back.
- Vision Training - all Zones - July - Owen Lynch of CIEL visited and discussed the mapping project as well as establishment of CELCOR. (DA)
- EDA - Steering Committee Meeting - Zone 6.
Boundary Mapping

2000

- PWM moved to new office at 7 mile.
- February - Registration of CELCOR to support work of PWM and other NGOs ­ started work in March. (DA)
- July - Application to Rainforest.
- December - 4 funding secured.
- July - December - CBO advances were not released. - Rainforest - no proper 1999 audit received.
- BNEA - worked on its own under publication division.
Nacoda
- Okari sales spoilt, yet to pay the farmers.
- The community bypassing NACODA and selling their nuts in Moresby.
- Luke leaves as Manager. Roy - takes over and Edrick as the bookkeeper.
- Chairman Frank leaves the job.
- Advance for only 4 months.
- 8th April - ELA Board of Management formed.
- Bought HF Radios for PWM and the project site.
- April - Billy kam long plateau long stretim somil.
- Serefuna Gender Workshop.
- September- Evaluation of the Project
- July - Robert elected to PWM Board.
- March - Combine Forum at Tahama (Zone 2).
- ELC workshop. Beyond ICADS.
- NRI - Forestry workshop - POM - (Annie, Vincent, Malchus).
- Draft Constitution of MDT and other CBOs.
- October - Attended RFN Partnership Seminar in Jambi, Indonesia with VM, MW, KN, DT, DA.
- Assist register EDA, DUST, and ODA.
- July - Developed Mapping Proposal to GEF Small Grants Scheme. (DA).
- PWM - proper accounts records kept.
- Executive Director - Matthew Waram resigned.
- Zone 5 - Gender workshop some w/reps from Zone 5 attended.
- Worked on proposal to PNG Incentive Fund for the Project with PWM staff and Mike Olsson.
- Draft MOU between Afore LLG and Ijivitari District office and PWM which was signed by the parties.

2001

- 1st March, new Executive Director Patrick Halpie was appointed to PWM.
- 26th March, new Programme Manager Monica Muye was appointed to PWM.
- Selection of MDT staff.
- 12th March PWM Project Officer for MDT joined the organization.
- January 7th - 14th - Conducted Para-Legal workshop for CBOs and other community leaders at Itokama with lawyers from CELCOR.
- Help register BNEA, ELA, and OLA.
- EDA - building of office (EDA) - Appointment of FC/AFC.
- BNEA - planning to run the whole literacy programme.
- 12th March - Crispin appointed as AFC. Johnson S Manager, George as Bookkeeper, Philemon as Material producer and Nixon as Translator.
- Setting up Managalas Development Trust.
- 1st Para-Legal Training by CELCOR at Itokama.
- OMIE Literacy registered under IPA to run the project as CONA Dev. Ass. (Zone 10).
- Major projects - radio, support project.
- Luke appointed as FC West on 12th March 2001.
- NACODA - New Manager Roy Garawa, Bookkeeper Edrick Ninimiro, Coordinator Tomson Kiri.
- New staff of PWM joined Patrick, Monica and John.
- Monica Muye first time long plateau long Steering Committee Meeting.
- 1st Steering Committee Meeting at Natanga village.
- Opening of Zone 3 10th April 2001.
- Change of management CONA Dev. Association-Manager David Jarebar.
- Clan Groups Topics for discussion.
- April 23rd, Planning workshop - Zone 1 (DA).
- January 26th, Learning across borders workshops - Tokyo Japan.
